For the Southern Region Undergraduate Leadership Retreat we will be making donations to the “Big Brothers, Big Sisters” of Erath County. This organization matches at-risk youths with caring, adult role models. Research proves that children enrolled in Big Brothers Big Sisters programs are more likely to improve in school and in their relationships with family and friends, and less likely to skip school or use illegal drugs or alcohol. The mentoring is for every ethnicity and parental situation.

This incentive will not count as the required 1 Women’s Z-HOPE Activity.

2nd Annual Miss Louisiana/Texas Zeta Pageant
When:February 18, 2012 at our Undergraduate Leadership Retreat in Stephenville, Texas
Who:Open to sorors of all ages as long as they are pre registered for the undergraduate retreat (there will be NO on-site registration)
The Pageant: This wonderful event is the brainchild of our 18th Regional Director Anitra K. Furlow. This event will highlight and pay tribute to our principles as well as spotlight the wonderful talent within our regional Zeta Family!
Each contestant will need a state costume, evening attire, and attire for the talent portion. In addition, each contestant should be prepared to do a talent if they place in the top 10 (Five from Louisiana and Five from Texas) and answer a question if they place in the top six (three from Louisiana and three from Texas.)
There will be a Miss Louisiana and a Miss Texas selected and a Miss Southern Region (either Louisiana or Texas). The winner from each state will receive a trophy, sash and crown. Miss Southern Region will receive her registration paid for the 2012 Boule, in Chicago, Illinois
The pageant application should be submitted electronically through the regional web site no later than January 28th. Louisiana contestants should submit applications to Lamesa Furlow Fleury and Texas contestants should submit applications to Kimberly Goodly.
